About Avishayes

Welcome to Avishayes Primary School

The choice of school for your child is a very important one. We hope that you will find the information in this website helpful. We are very proud of our Curriculum, Teaching and Learning. If you would like the opportunity to look around the school, please call to arrange a visit between 3:30pm and 4:30pm to have a tour of the site with a member of the senior leadership team.

Curriculum

Our broad, balanced and inspiring curriculum helps every child develop curiosity, confidence and a love of learning across all subjects.

Author

From phonics to storytelling, we build strong communication skills, a love of reading, and confidence in speaking and writing.

Mathematician

We nurture mathematical thinkers who can reason, problem-solve and see the patterns that shape the world around them.

Scientist

Hands-on experiments spark curiosity and discovery, helping children explore how and why things work in the world around them.

Historian and Geographer

We inspire curiosity about people, places and the past – helping children understand their world and their place within it.

Musician

Each year-group has at least one half-term to explore their creativity through art, dance, music or drama.

Athlete

Through sport and active play, children build teamwork, fitness and confidence - developing healthy habits for life.

Philosopher

Our PSHE curriculum promotes kindness, resilience and respect – supporting every child’s wellbeing and personal growth.

Engineer and ICT

Children become confident digital learners – using technology safely, creatively and responsibly to enhance learning.

Avishayes Primary School and Early Years Centre has strengths in Early Years, Behaviours and Attitudes and Personal Development.

The school strongly promotes the pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development through a wide range of stimulating activities. This underpins the very supportive relationships between adults and pupils and between pupils that enrich their enjoyment and increased efforts in learning.

All groups of pupils, including disabled pupils, those with special educational needs and the most able, relish their learning. This is because teachers and teaching assistants set work and question them effectively to extend their thinking and skills.
